Bringing a wealth of instrumental music for ambience, meditation or just enjoyment. The first album released, “A Biblical Dozen”, portrays a selection of twelve focus points in the Christian Bible. This sets the scene for the music presented on this website under the banner of “Acoustic Reach”.
Russell, a musician since childhood playing both flute and drums, along with a good understanding of music was aware that just about all of today’s church worship music lyric based. Nothing wrong with that at all, as the Christian faith focuses on the Word of God. Often enough, if an instrumental interlude is required, it would be a lyrical piece played without the words. Throughout history, worship music has comprised of works with and without vocals so where are the meditational, ambient, instrumental works for worship in these times?
The act of worship is not necessarily an act of singing or lifting our hands to the Lord once a week at a Sunday morning service – these are just expressions of worship. To Worship the Lord is to acknowledge God in all aspects of life. For some of us, expressions of worship are in prayer, for some … visual arts, for some … dance, for some … poetry – and many others, recognising and acknowledging our maker in humble adoration.
This series of works is provided to help people in their Christian lives, during times of worship, meditation or other presentations … dance, drama or art, providing music to serve as background music, for times of meditation, for before and after meetings – or just for enjoyment.
Initiated during the 2021 pandemic lockdowns when social interaction was limited, stuck indoors with time to compose, this is Russell’s way of giving back to the Lord the gift of music, given to him.
Mission Statement
The mission statement is to provide and teach, with music, the values that God gave us to live life in accordance by God, the Creator. These were given to us in the Old Testament of the Bible as the Ten Commandments and later as the essentials for grace in the New Testament from Jesus.
Do as Jesus commanded (Mark 12 v30):
• Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.
• Love your neighbour as yourself.
These bring together the Ten Commandments of the Old Testament, as God commanded all of us:
• I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me.
• Do not worship Idols in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.
• Do not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.
• Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labour and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore, the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
• Honour your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.
• You shall not murder.
• You shall not commit adultery.
• You shall not steal.
• You shall not give false testimony against your neighbour.
• You shall not covet your neighbour’s house. You shall not covet your neighbour’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to.
